GAME PRESENTATION:

Song vs Song Series (SvS) is a virtual music-performance sports league where independent recording artists compete with their songs (Spotify/Apple Music) head-to-head in tournament-style games. Game matches are, literally, song vs song where they're displayed on our website for the public to LISTEN and VOTE.

PLAYER BENEFITS:

• Massive social media promotion and international song exposure (we average over 3,000 visitors to our website on game days that vote .)
• Organic increase in Spotify/Apple Music streams and potential new fans (we use various marketing tactics to drive real people to our website on game days.)

• Free (1/hr) business consultation
• Potential opportunities with major label A&Rs, radio/club DJs, playlist curators, and other music industry professionals looking for new music
• 24/7 access to our MSL University online education portal (BETA)
• 25% discount on premier song marketing/promotional services (services do not give players a compeitive advantage, these are services for players that are looking for additional promotions for releasing singles or albums in between games.)
• Players are paid to compete (payment is based on the number of submissions per game)

SCORING SYSTEM:

Matches are scored by our judges on the categories of DELIVERY, SONG QUALITY, and RADIO READINESS. The player that wins on the scorecards advances to the next round. In the event of a tie, the votes will be used as the tiebreaker.

• The Game 5 champion clinches the 5th playoff seed. The playoffs are in August. (Game champions may continue to compete in the remaining regular season games, but are not required.)

REGULAR SEASON:

In 2023, there are 10 regular season games (Jan - Jul). (To see the schedule, visit https://musicisoursport.com/song-vs-song-series).

PLAYOFFS:

Players can clinch a playoff spot by either winning a regular season game or clinching a wildcard by accumulating the most ranking points by the end of the season. The players that finish in the top 4 of the playoffs clinch a SUPER MIC berth.

SUPER MIC:

The SUPER MIC is the championship game. The top 4 players from the playoffs will compete head-to-head either live onstage or virtually (this is based on league finances). SUPER MIC champion receives $1,000 dollars, the championship belt, and the #1 ranking until next season.

• $50 - FIRST TIME PLAYERS
• $30 - RETURNING PLAYERS

Then, complete the submission form, and include ONE song link (Spotify/Apple Music only)

SUBMISSIONS RULES: Submissions will be reviewed for accuracy. If any issues are found, an A&R representative will reach out to fix the issue.

• Must be an unsigned recording artist
• Must live in U.S. or Canada
• Song is required to be listed on Spotify or Apple Music
• Song is required to be radio-edited
• Song must be 100% original
• Must be at 18 years old
